Gallagher, Bickers & O’Gorman Led TC Classes in First Practice Friday at MRLS

SALINAS, Calif. – Patrick Gallagher of Thornville, Ohio, Joey Bickers of Moorpark, Calif., and Tom O’Gorman of Mason, Ohio posted the quickest times of their Touring Car divisions Friday practice at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in the season finale Pirelli World Challenge Championships presented by Nissan.

Gallagher, fighting for the TC class point title, drove his No. 54 Atlanta Motorsport Group Mazda MX-5 to the top position in Touring Car practice Friday over Kevin Krauss of Fishers, Ind., in the No. 88 Outlier/Scion Group Porsche Cayman, point leader Toby Grahovec of Little Elm, Tex., in the No. 26 Classic BMW BMW M235Ir, Shea Holbrook of Orlando, Fla., in the No. 67 Bubba Burger/Shea Racing Honda Accord V-6 Coupe and Tony Rivera of Vista, Calif., in the No. 97 Brass Monkey Racing/Tiburon Motorsports Nissan 370Z.

In the TCA category, Bickers, in the No. 49 Atlanta Motorsports Group Mazda MX-5 Cup machine, paced the class with Eric Powell of Orlando, Fla., in the No. 23 TechSport Racing Mazda MX-5 in second over the legendary 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit near the beautiful Monterey Bay. Third quickest was Steven Streimer in No. 21 TechSport Racing Mazda MX-5 followed by Matthew Fassnacht in the No. 74 S.A.C. Racing Mazda MX-5 and Paul Whiting in the No. 51 PWR Honda Civic Si.

O’Gorman, winner of the last four TCB races, clocked in the quickest TCB time in his No. 94 Black Armor Helmets Honda Fit as the Ohio driver battles for the series point championship this weekend. Second to O’Gorman was 16-year-old Henry Morse of Redondo Beach, Calif., in the No. 14 MorseGPS/Hale Motorsports Mazda 2 followed by Will Rodgers of Murrieta, Calif., in the No. 65 Hale Motorsports Mazda 2, James Wilson of Kyle, Tex., in the No. 55 Black Armor Helmets Mazda 2 and Ted Hough of Farmington, Minn., in the No 68 Breathless Racing Mazda 2.

Qualifying for the Touring Car classes will begin at 12:30 p.m. PDT.
