Previously: Weisberg is the owner and principal driver of BERG Racing. For more than 20 years, John has successfully raced in SCCA, IMSA and GRAND-AM, PCA, BMWCCA, and NASA. John started racing in 1991 with a Volkswagen Rabbit producing a whopping 78HP! In this car, he won his first race and his first championship in SCCA club racing. John quickly moved up the ranks scoring wins in a wide variety of cars from open-wheel to sedans. In 1997, John entered his first SCCA pro race in World Challenge. John continued in club racing while earning a degree from Southern Connecticut State University and working as an race engineer, ever pursuing another pro level effort. John also made 4 runoff appearances during this time in an EP Mazda RX7 and established BERG Racing in 2001. 2005 saw a return to SCCA pro in the "Pro Miata" ranks and great success in club racing endurance events. BERG racing cars won several 12 and 24hr races in Miatas that John had built and engineered. The next pro opportunity was in 2009. After purchasing a second hand Stohr DSR, John converted it to an IMSA Lites car and proceeded to win the 2009 and 2010 IMSA Lites L2 championships. In 2011, John made his first start in Rolex GT in a Pratt and Miller GTO and a second GT start in the Salens Six Hour in a Crawford Corvette, all while also racing in the Continental tires sports car championship in BERG Racing built Porsches. Most recently, John managed the team to a win in the ST class at the 2014 Indianapolis IMSA race. In 2015 Weisberg completed his first full season in PWC racing both the REDCOM/BERG Porsche and MX-5, scoring three podium finishes along the way.
