Palmer to Join Courtney for a Busy Season-Finale Weekend Ahead for JCR Motorsports

Milwaukee, WI – JCR Motorsports hits the track for an action packed weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the season finale of the Pirelli World Challenge Championships October 7-9.

Greg Palmer will make his professional racing debut with JCR Motorsports, co-driving the No. 66 Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 with Jeff Courtney in Rounds 5 and 6 of SprintX, a 60-minute sprint race that features a driver change.

2016-10-06-jcrmotorsports-2“Greg is the real grass roots guy, he has run probably 20 events this summer with his wife and son by his side and he is really focused on learning as much as possible as quick as possible,” said Courtney. “With that said he will have a very sharp learning curve as he has never seen Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca before and is obviously jumping into a level of competition he has not seen on track before so it is our job to get him as prepared as possible and manage his expectations and most importantly help him to enjoy a great weekend!”

On top of two Sprint-X races, Courtney will be driving the No. 99 Kenda Tire / RecStuff.com Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 in GTS Rounds 18 and 19. The 2.238-mile permanent road course in Monterey, CA has been a venue of some success for Courtney and is the location where he clinched the 2015 North American Maserati Trofeo Championship. He and the JCR Motorsports team are confident in their ability to produce a winning effort this weekend.

“I want to thank the JCR crew in advance because It will be a very busy weekend, not just for me, running four races; But for the extra work load and responsibility we are putting on them! Hopefully Greg and I can reward them with some very strong results, it would be a great way to bring the 2016 season to a close,” said Courtney.

The weekend kicks off with test sessions on Thursday, October 6 followed by practice and qualifying on Friday, October 7. Races take place on Saturday, October 8 and the green flag will wave for the final time on Sunday, October 9. A full schedule of events can be found at www.world-challenge.com.
